End-to-End Engineering for Bio-Carbon Assets

Stage 1

Concept & Process Architecture

Turning early lab data and high level ideas into bankable process designs and mass/energy balances.

  • Mass & Energy Balances: Rigorous thermodynamic modeling for pyrolysis, gasification, and activation.
  • Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs): Standardising continuous feed, reaction, gas cleanup, and product handling.
  • Feedstock Characterisation: Auditing ash chemistry, silica, moisture, and slagging potential.
  • Site Layout Optimisation: Engineering spatial arrangements for material flow and safety setbacks.

Stage 2

Reactor Selection & Vendor Due Diligence

Unbiased, vendor neutral technology evaluation to ensure you buy equipment that matches your feedstock, project goals, and budget.

  • Reactor Technology Selection: Independent assessment of rotary kilns, fluid beds, and augers.
  • OEM & Manufacturer Validation: Auditing technology suppliers to verify actual throughput claims.
  • Specification & Procurement: Drafting technical specs for bid packages (reactors, driers, shredders).
  • Auxiliary Equipment Integration: Sizing syngas burners, bio-oil condensers, and gas scrubbers.

Stage 3

Detailed Design & Site Delivery

Acting as your Owner’s Engineer during detail engineering, procurement, and physical plant construction.

  • Owner’s Engineering: Representing your interests against EPC contractors and equipment vendors.
  • P&ID & HAZOP Reviews: Process safety reviews and hazard identification for thermal systems.
  • Onsite Execution & Supervision: Technical governance during equipment installation and piping layout.
  • Commissioning Support: Cold/hot commissioning management and acceptance testing oversight.

Stage 4

Operational Optimisation & Expansion

Post-commissioning troubleshooting to resolve bottlenecks, boost yield, and improve plant uptime.

  • Tar & Syngas Troubleshooting: Eliminating tar condensation and gas cleanup bottlenecks.
  • Slagging & Fouling Diagnostics: Resolving reactor clinkering and high-temperature fouling issues.
  • Throughput Debottlenecking: Increasing daily biochar/bio-oil yield without exceeding thermal limits.
  • Operational Standardisation: Standardising SOPs, operator training, and quality control.
