Should we be using slow pyrolysis bio-oil for fuel?

Electrification is undoubtedly the answer to the vast majority of our renewable energy questions.

But there are industries, that for the foreseable future will need to continue to burn a fuel.

But the supply of renewable fuels hasn’t kept up with the demand.

Slow pyrolysis Bio-oil, a product many biochar producers are giving away for free or selling cheaply, could help to fill the void quickly without the need to build new infrastructure or technologies.

In my latest post on Substack (link in the comments) I discuss
→ Why FAME supply is nearly exhausted
→ How bio-oil is co-processed in a refinery FCC
→ The economics for biochar producers
→ Why Biochar producers are well positioned to take advantage of this opportunity
→ The practical considerations before approaching a refinery
